About Abhyanga

Abhyanga is one of the most fundamental treatments in Ayurveda. The Sanskrit word 'Abhyanga' is derived from 'Abhi' meaning 'towards' and 'Anga' meaning 'limbs' or 'body parts'. It involves the application of warm herbal oils in a specific pattern over the entire body, followed by a gentle massage that helps the oils penetrate deep into the tissues.

According to Ayurvedic texts, regular Abhyanga practice helps to delay aging, relieve fatigue, improve vision, nourish the body, increase longevity, and promote sound sleep. The oils used in Abhyanga are carefully selected based on your unique constitution (dosha) and current imbalances.

Treatment Process

1

Consultation

Our Ayurvedic physician will assess your constitution and current imbalances to determine the appropriate oils and techniques for your massage.

2

Preparation

The treatment room is prepared with a comfortable massage table, and the herbal oils are warmed to the optimal temperature.

3

Oil Application

Warm herbal oil is applied to your entire body in a specific pattern, starting from the head and moving downward.

4

Massage Technique

Using long, rhythmic strokes, our therapist will massage the oil into your skin, focusing on marma points (vital energy centers).

5

Relaxation

After the massage, you'll rest briefly to allow the oils to penetrate deeply into your tissues.

6

The session concludes with a warm shower to remove excess oil while leaving a thin, nourishing layer on your skin.
